QUALITY CONTROL FIRST
Quality control where
where it matters most
We carry out inspections during production and before dispatch. For each order, we follow the approved documentation, production instructions and agreed acceptance criteria.
We link products to their production orders and record any deviations, addressing them with the relevant teams and with the customer whenever their decision is needed. This makes it possible to track each product throughout the manufacturing process.
SPI
Solder paste inspection (SPI). Most component placement quality issues in electronics manufacturing originate with solder paste application. At Proplace, we provide comprehensive solder paste inspection using an in-line SPI machine that checks paste application on every PCB.
AOI
Visual inspection is carried out using AOI (automated optical inspection) machines, which can detect potential shorts, component misalignment and other placement defects. Learn more about our AOI machine in the SMT Assembly section.
X-ray inspection
For complex component placement where visual inspection cannot provide the required quality control, we also perform X-ray inspection of PCBs. This technology is particularly important for BGA chip assembly, as X-rays let us see beneath the chip and verify the quality of the solder joints.
Testing
Product testing can make a significant contribution to increasing the share of defect-free deliveries. A functional test fixture can be supplied by the customer, or you can opt for flying probe or ICT (in-circuit test) testing.

X-ray inspection
For the placement of more complex components, where visual inspection alone cannot provide the required quality control, we can also arrange X-ray inspection of printed circuit boards through our partners. This technology is particularly useful when assembling BGA chips, as X-rays let us see beneath the chip and verify the quality of the solder joints.
FCT
Functional testing can make a major contribution to increasing the proportion of defect-free products shipped. The customer can supply the functional testing equipment, or Proplace can manufacture it based on the customer’s specifications.
